PulseDepot FAQ

No. PulseDepot and Crux never read or write save files. Mods keep their settings in Crux’s own storage (mod-state.dat in the mod folder), kept per save slot.

No. Apply writes one merged file, active.crximg, plus Crux and PulseDepot’s own state. Crux serves the image’s files to the game while it runs. See What Apply writes.

No. With NovaFix, Crux runs as its addon. Without it, Crux runs as the standalone version.dll. Automatic under Crux host picks the right one.

Yes. PulseDepot is a native x86_64 Linux program, and the games run through Steam Play (Proton). Without NovaFix, add WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b" %command% to the game’s launch options. See Install.

FINAL FANTASY XIII and XIII-2 (Steam). LIGHTNING RETURNS is in the game list, but no LR mods ship with this release, so treat LR support as experimental. Microsoft Store versions: XIII-2 is experimental, XIII and LIGHTNING RETURNS are not supported. See Compatibility for every tool and mod.
